June 24-26 was the 10th running of the Big Fat Turkey Race put on by the Roadrunners R/C Club in Camarillo, CA. This race brought together many fast drivers from southern California and a few others from the surrounding states. At the end of qualifying it was RCAmerica/Xray factory driver Max Kuenning that would start P2 in Open Touring Car with teammate Fred Hubbard starting P3. The triple A-Main format was very exciting, all of the finals were action packed. The top 3 drivers Barry Baker (Yokomo), Randy Caster (Team Associated), and Max Kuenning (XRAY) battled it out in every main and it ended with a three-way tie for the win. Each of the drivers had a 1,2, and 3. But it was Baker that ended up with the tie-break win with the fastest single time by a little under a second of Kuenning.
